posted on by Andrew Osmond
The following venues and dates/times have been confirmed for screenings of Masaaki Yuasa's anime film Ride Your Wave. It is being shown as part of a touring programme of Japanese films from January 31 to March 29 2020.
Masaaki Yuasa directed Ride Your Wave at his Science SARU studio. Reiko Yoshida (Lu over the wall, A Silent Voice, Liz and the Blue Bird) wrote the film's script, and Michiru Ōshima (Patema Inverted, The Night is Short Walk On, Girl) composed the music. The film is about a woman, Hinako, who moves to a coastal town. She loves surfing, and when she's on the waves she's fearless. When a fire wreaks havoc in the town, Hinako encounters the young firefighter Minato.
