Jasco Games' Street Fighter Miniatures Game Kickstarter Meets Goal in 1 Day
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Texas-based game company Jasco Games launched a Kickstarter campaign on Wednesday for Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game, a miniatures game based on CAPCOM's Street Fighter franchise. The campaign reached its initial US$400,000 goal by the next day.
The game is slated for release in March 2019 for Kickstarter backers only, and will not be available at retail. The game is also not available to ship to backers in Asia, including Japan. As of press time the campaign has raised US$646,368.
The game simulates combat in the Street Fighter universe, and uses the "Universal Tactics System" for the combat rules. Apart from the miniatures, the game uses both dice and character-specific card decks, with characters doing battle in a map with terrain. The game supports two to six players in Free for All, Versus, Team Mode, and a 3v1 Boss Battle Mode.
The game's stretch goals include additional character miniatures and decks, new modes, and improvements to the packaging.
Jasco Games previously announced in 2015 that it plans to produce Dragon Ball Z and Cowboy Bebop miniatures games based on its "Universal Tactics System."
