posted on by Egan Loo
LION GAMES' Korean online role-playing game Soul Worker is inspiring an anime that will stream online this fall. The publisher NHN PlayArt made the announcement at the Wednesday press conference marking the completion of the game. The press conference showed an animatic preview and the storyboards for the anime.
The game depicts a peaceful world wracked by giant devastating whirlwinds. The player control boys and girls who became Soul Workers and wage battles against mysterious monsters for the fate of the world. The Japanese version is accepting applications for testers from August 5 until August 11, and the closed beta test will run from August 20 to August 23. The game already held a "world premiere test" in July.
The game is built around five concepts: a cinematic system, a simple one-touch skill system, a party automatch system, a supporter system that allows players to take NPCs as party members for single player play, and a customizable room system.
The game already has a Japanese voice cast for its main characters:
Ai Kayano as Haru Estia
Hiro Shimono as Erwin Arclight
Ibuki Kido as Lily Bloommerchen
The Wednesday press conference also announced more cast members:
Risa Taneda as Stella Unibell
Saori Ōnishi will play the role of Chloe.
The group GARNiDELiA (Gundam: Reconguista in G, The irregular at magic high school) is performing the theme song for the game. However, the theme song was not ready yet, so the group performed their Kill la Kill opening theme "ambiguous" at the press conference.
The press conference previewed storyboards by Studio Hibari's spinoff Larx Entertainment (Monsuno).
