The June issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Hero's magazine announced the cast and staff for the anime of Kazuhiko Shimamoto's Hero Company manga on Friday.

Bob Shirohata (Hetalia - Axis Powers, Hiiro no Kakera - The Tamayori Princess Saga) is directing the anime at Studio Deen. Mitsutaka Hirota (Bakumatsu Rock, The Prince of Tennis II) is writing the scenario, and Shinobu Tagashira (Is This a Zombie?, The Law of Ueki) is designing the characters.

The action comedy manga follows workers at a giant corporation that is dedicated to protecting people from disasters and other events all over the world. Together, they transform into the superheroes Dessert Five: Chocolate Red, Macaron Navy, Langue de Chat White, Soft Ice Cream Yellow, and Parfait Pink.

The eighth manga volume will bundle the original anime DVD this fall.

Shimamoto launched the manga in Monthly Hero's inaugural issue in 2011. The creator is known for other over-the-top comedies such as Honō no Tenkōsei (Blazing Transfer Student), Anime Tenchō, and Hoero Pen. He also created more serious fare such as Aoi Hono and The Skull Man, his interpretation of Shotaro Ishinomori's classic anti-hero manga. Honō no Tenkōsei and Anime Tenchō inspired anime, while Aoi Hono inspired a live-action television series.

Veteran anime studio Tatsunoko Productions (Gatchaman, Casshern, Yatterman) already produced a 145-second anime short to promote the 2013 release of the third Hero Company manga volume. In the ad, the folks on the roster list their favorite sweets: Daichi Hadou (cream puffs), Ginga Amano (chocolate with nuts), Syun Busou (ice cream), Hikaru Hyu-ga (parfait), and Saki Tsurugi ("anything"):
