Takashi Shimizu (Ju-on/The Grudge movie franchise, Kiki's Delivery Service) directed a live-action teaser for Night Cry, the PS Vita/smartphone game that is the spiritual successor to Clock Tower.
Clock Tower game franchise designer Hifumi Kōno (Steel Battalion, Infinite Space) announced this new horror game project, tentatively titled Project Scissors at the time, at Tokyo Game Show 2014's Indie Stream Festival. Masahiro Itō (Silent Hill's "Red Pyramid Thing" and "Bubble Head Nurse") is designing the creatures, and Nobuko Toda (Metal Gear Solid) is in charge of sound.
The developer Nude Maker posted a press release on the project that describes it as a horror action adventure game for the PlayStation Vita, smartphones, and tablets. The story is set aboard a luxury ocean liner. In this enclosed space with no escape routes, the first of a string of brutal murders occurs. As the list of victims grows with no end in sight, can the player survive?
Clock Tower is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
