Final Fantasy Explorers Starting Area, Crystal Drive Trailers Streamed
posted on by Kyle Cardine
Square Enix began streaming two new trailers for the upcoming Final Fantasy Explorers game for Nintendo 3DS on Monday.
The "foundation" trailer shows the basic mechanics of the game and the starting town of Libertus, where players can obtain quests, buy items and more. Players can also gather material for other items within the game's world.
The second trailer showcases the "Crystal Drive" system. When enemies are hit, players accumulate “Resonance Power,” which can be used for special attacks.
Square Enix filed a trademark for Final Fantasy Explorers in the United States on June 20. A price and release date for a Western release has yet to be announced.
The game is slated to ship in Japan on December 18 for 5,800 yen (about US$54). A download edition will also be available for 4,500 yen (about US$42). December 18 is also the anniversary of the first Final Fantasy game, so first copies of Final Fantasy Explorers will come with a download code for a commemorative Nintendo 3DS edition of the original game.
