This year's 28th issue of Akita Shoten's Shōnen Champion magazine announced on Thursday that Misato Fukuen (Rosario + Vampire Capu2, Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~) will voice the clumsy policewoman Keiko Furukawa in the original video anime (OVA) Blu-ray Disc that will be bundled with Masahiro Anbe's 17th Squid Girl (Shinryaku! Ika Musume) manga volume. The Keiko Furukawa character is making her anime debut in this Blu-ray.
Three directors — Takayuki Inagaki (Rosario + Vampire, My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy), Makoto Moriwaki (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes), and Shin Misawa (Gingitsune) — are directing the three new episodes "with laughs and new characters" on this Blu-ray.
The limited edition of the manga's 17th compiled volume and the Blu-ray will ship on September 8.
The comedy manga follows a squid girl who vows to invade the beaches of mankind since humans have polluted the seas. However, her invasion is less than successful, and she ends up on dry land.
Crunchyroll streamed both television anime seasons and the two previous original video DVDs overseas as they aired in Japan. Media Blasters licensed both seasons and released the first on DVD.
