posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Carole & Tuesday, the new original anime by supervising director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance) and anime studio BONES has a long list of impressive musical talent attached. Musicians including m-flow's Taku Takahashi, electronic artist Maika Loubté, singer G.RINA, American bassist Thundercat, and American record producer Flying Lotus are all attached as composers for the series.
The series' musicians are seasoned but the staff looked to fresh talent to perform the singing voices of its titular stars. A series of auditions eventually found Nai Br.XX and Celeina Ann to sing as Carole and Tuesday. Former Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon live-action series theme song singer Alisa rounds out the vocalists as the singer for character angela.
You can hear Nai Br.XX and Celeina Ann sing the anime's opening theme song "Kiss Me" in a music video released on Wednesday. The song was written, composed, and arranged by Japanese musical group Nulbarich.
Additional musical talent includes Canadian singer Mocky, Norwegian record producer Lido, Dutch singer Benny Sings, Seattle-based musician Jen Wood, Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley, songwriter Evan "Kidd" Bogart, composer Maisa Tsuno, and Kings of Convenience's Eirik Glambek Bøe,
