Horror Manga Master Junji Ito Will Hold Exhibition in Ginza

The work of acclaimed horror manga creator Junji Ito will be on display in Ginza's Span Art Gallery beginning on March 23. The exhibition will run in two parts with the first half ending on April 2 followed by the second half in the same space until April 9. Approximately 90 pieces will be available for viewing from the mysterious and deadly Tomie to The Intersection Bishōnen.
Ito will hold an autograph session at the gallery on April 6. Fans needed to sign up for the limited 120 spots to obtain an autograph and purchase a copy of the newly released Junji Ito Artbook: Ikei Sekai. The sign-up is currently full.
Junji Ito's horror stories were the subject of the Junji Ito "Collection" anime. Ito's work has been adapted into live-action films before, like Uzumaki and Tomie, Viz Media has released Ito's Tomie story collection, Gyo, Uzumaki, Fragments of Horror, and most recently Shiver in North America. The company recentlyreleased Ito's Frankenstein: Junji Ito Story Collection manga and licensed his No Longer Human (Ningen Shikkaku) manga adaptation and Smashed: Junji Ito Story Collection. Kodansha USA has released his not-so-scary true story manga about learning to live with his fiance's cats under the title Junji Ito's Cat Diary: Yon & Mu, and Vertical licensed and released The Dissolving Classroom.
Ito will make appearances at this year's Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) in May and the Crunchyroll Expo from August 30 through September 1
