Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island), who is directing the upcoming live-action adaptation of Konami and Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid game, is taking the next month to celebrate the franchise's 31st anniversary.
Vogt-Roberts will post "concept art he created with a series of 'next-gen artists'" over the next 31 days to celebrate the milestone. He also posted a video announcing the 31-day project on Twitter on Friday featuring the franchise character Colonel Campbell.

In the video, Colonel Campbell stresses the art is just fan art and "is not meant to represent what is or not in the forthcoming film."
Vogt-Roberts also posted the first piece of artwork, by Nick Foreman.

The bond we formed via mechs reinforced that we should be loud w/ our love of this franchise as we may find friends & collaborators in the process. pic.twitter.com/5Zj4vRsu5T
Unfortunately, Vogt-Roberts and Colonel Campbell couldn't reveal any more details about the upcoming film, stating that the new information "was lost behind enemy lines, hidden in the code for a Soliton Radar," adding, "Snake is on his way to retrieve it."
Vogt-Roberts and Kojima also hosted a conversation at E3 last month.
Kojima and Konami released Metal Gear on the MSX on July 13, 1987. Kojima's last Metal Gear title with Konami, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, shipped in September 2015. Metal Gear Survive is the first Metal Gear console game to be announced since Kojima's departure from Konami. The game launched in February.
Kojima is currently working on his Death Stranding PlayStation 4 game with his new Kojima Productions studio.
