The Idolm@ster SideM Teams Up With Cup Rice
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
As part of its ongoing collaboration with The IDOLM@STER franchise, Nissin Foods recently revealed a campaign involving The Idolm@ster SideM's S.E.M idol unit. This time, the guys are promoting Nissin Foods' Cup Meshi instant rice.
In the collaboration image above, S.E.M's Michio Hazama, Rui Maita, and Jirō Yamashita dress as key ingredients in Cup Meshi. Their costumes are reminiscent of Curry Meshi-kun, the mascot character for Nissin Foods' Curry Meshi instant curry rice cups.
All three S.E.M members also took over Curry Meshi-kun's Twitter account for their own posts about the collaboration. However, Rui's tweet missed the mark a bit.
ミスターカレーメシ公式followerのみんな、Nice to meet you!

元イングリッシュティーチャーの舞田類だよ今回のexitingなキャンペーンに向けて、俺たちS.E.MもTweetさせてもらうから、これからよろしくね!
As a former English teacher, Rui interspersed the tweet with English words in his characteristic style. Unfortunately, when Rui said "exiting campaign," it's clear he actually meant "exciting campaign." Astute fans were quick to point out the error. Perhaps it is best that Rui gave up on teaching English to become an idol. Nevertheless, Rui took the error in stride and posted a follow-up tweet in which he explained the meaning of "exiting" and advised Twitter followers to be careful on tests.
The official website for Cup Meshi will reveal full details of the collaboration on March 15.
The Idolm@ster SideM anime premiered on October 7, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
