Sapporo Pokémon Center to Hold Pikachu Festival Over Holiday Weekend
posted on by Eric Stimson
The Pokemon Center in Sapporo will celebrate the upcoming three-day weekend (September 19 is Respect for the Aged Day) with a Pikachu Matsuri (festival). Young Pokémon fans can gather to play Pokémon bingo, make Pokémon window stickers, and play various Pokémon carnival games. On September 17, there's a Pokémon cube puzzle and "Pikachu's dice safari." On the 18th, the dice safari will be held again, in addition to "Pikachu's bingo challenge." Visitors on the 19th can play the cube puzzle or the bingo challenge.
Pictures are from previous festivals.
But what's a Pikachu festival without Pikachu? The friendly rodent itself will appear at the festival; visitors can greet it at 12, 1:30, or 3 PM daily.
The Pokémon bingo tournament costs 500 yen ($4.87) to enter, while the carnival games each cost 300 yen ($2.92) and making window stickers costs 648 yen ($6.31). The festival will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM each day.
New Pokemon Centers have recently opened in Tokyo's Skytree tower and Kyoto.
