New Shiseido Ad Demonstrates the Transformative Power of Make Up
posted on by Carlos Cadorniga
Hair care and cosmetics company Shiseido unveiled a new ad that demonstrates their products can transform anyone into a cute girl.
The new advertisement was posted on the company's official YouTube channel last week. The video, entitled "High School Girl? The Secret to a High School Girl's Make Up," goes into a brief overview of a classroom comprised of only female high school students and their female teacher. Once each of the girls have had a chance to appear on screen, one winking at the a viewer, the camera closes in on a small page of a book that reads "Did you notice all of the guys in the classroom?" In a bit of a twist ending, the ad then rewinds through an entire make-up process, revealing that each and every girl featured in the ad was actually a male dressed up and made up to look like a girl.
The ad was directed by Shō Yanagisawa, who recently worked on the commercial for the upcoming Pokémon GO! AR mobile game. The ad was created to show that anybody can be cute.
The making-of video shows off the boys' transformations into high school girls and outlines each individual Shiseido product used in the process.
