Yui Horie, Marina Kawano Sing Nekomonogatari (Black) Themes
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The official website for the anime adaptation of NisiOisin's Nekomonogatari (Black) novel announced the series' opening and ending themes on Saturday. Voice actress Yui Horie will sing the opening "perfect slumbers" and singer Marina Kawano will perform the closing theme "Kieru Daydream". The lyrics for "perfect slumbers" and "Kieru Daydream" were penned by meg rock and Saori Kodama, respectively, and Satoru Kousaki (Monaka) composed and arranged both songs.
Yui Horie voices class representative Tsubasa Hanekawa in the Monogatari series. She's performed in a long list of anime theme songs including the 5th opening for Bakemonogatari, as well as themes for Negima!, Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, and Toradora!.
Marina Kawano previously performed themes for A-Channel and the fourth season of Natsume's Book of Friends. "Kieru Daydream" matches the subtle relationship between protagonist Koyomi Araragi and Tsubasa Hanekawa.
The original novel contains the "Tsubasa Family" story, set between Kizumonogatari and Bakemonogatari, with the character Tsubasa.
The anime will premiere in Japan on December 31 from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (JST).
