XSEED Games announced on Thursday that it will release the first chapter of Team GrisGris' Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient game for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store in North America on October 23. The company plans to publish each chapter episodically as it is developed.
The game was originally scheduled to launch in North America in fall 2018.
Digital game distribution platform PLAYISM released the game in Japan in October 2017. The game is a reboot of GrindHouse's Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient game, which launched for PC in 2013. The rebooted version features additions to the story, new images, and runs on the new "KENIX Engine NEUES" engine.
GrindHouse released the Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient game in 2013 on the PC as a sequel to Team GrisGris' original Corpse Party games. The game was intended to be released episodically, with the story serialized in game episodes over time. However, GrindHouse only released the game's first episode. The game has also inspired a drama CD.
