Sony to Stop Repairing PSP-3000, PS3 CECH-3000 Devices in Japan
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official Twitter account for Sony's PlayStation customer support announced on April 23 that Sony will end repair services in Japan for the PlayStation 3's CECH-3000 model ("PS3 Slim"), and the PlayStation Portable's PSP-3000 ("PSP Slim"). Services for the CECH-3000 will end on May 31, while the PSP-3000 will end at an as-yet unspecified date.
For the PSP-3000, the customer support account added that the company is ending repair services for the device due to having depleted its inventory of spare parts for the device.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) previously announced in March that it has officially stopped shipments of the PlayStation Vita handheld console in Japan.
