Yeah, I'm a Dragon Quest fanboy, for sure. I've got DQ7 on pre-order already because of course, why not?

I do find it rather funny that the 4,5,6 DS remakes used a modified engine the original DQ 7 used, but now 7 gets a complete overhaul. Though DS vs 3DS is probably a big factor. I am looking forward to the new designs on the different classes, I wonder if they'll add any classes or change how they work, etc. I also hope that they'll keep in my precious Lvl8 slimes (1=150 exp, but 8 combine to form 1 king slime=170 exp. So, keep them too confused to combine with panic dance, wait until there's one left, let it summon more, rinse and repeat. It might take a while, but tons of exp can be had)

I still have the Playstation version of 7 myself, back when it was called "Dragon Warrior", and all the moves had different names because the DQ series didn't really get any sort of uniformity until 8 came out. I never did beat 7 though, it's one of the longest RPGs I've ever played and after a certain point, damn, it was just a really hard game. I'm kind of hoping that they might let it be so that the story doesn't dictate who's in the party though.

Yeah DQVII was a good game but also felt like it dragged for too long, way too much of a grind. Still looking forward to playing it again on 3DS, simply because it has been such a looong time since I beat it. DQVIII on the other hand is a masterpiece IMHO, the story, pace and world just beautiful. I am just glad they are being localized, doesn't matter when the release date is.
