I've been deciding whether or not to drop both Classroom Crisis and Chaos Dragon, and now I see that they are at the bottom of both rankings. Hmm..

No real surprise that the tops of both lists are dominated by sequels and long-running series, as generally only established franchise fans (IOW, those most likely to consistently rate the series highly) are likely to still be watching them.

Kind of surprised to see Monster Musume so low. Yes, it's unapologetic, shameless trash, but who watches the show week-to-week and checks in to each review to give it a negative score? Feels a little odd to me
(lord help me i'm actually defending Monster Musume)

Wow what is even happening in that graph. God Eater is in the middle of it, for some reason.

Prison School seems to have the most interesting story to tell. Keeps on rising in the cumulative rankings.

We'll fix the God Eater thing.
I realize this is a lot of data and the graph might look a little overwhelming at first glance, but it's trying to give you a bunch of information at once. Overall rank, places on the chart it moved, score by individual episode and then average based on the total number of episodes scored.

Yeah, it's a self-selected audience. So long as that sequel is consistent with the first, it'll see higher ratings.

The problem with the click to highlight thing is that when you click on the series name you only have a second or so to see the highlighted line before you get set off to the series page.
Being able to highlight the line on the graph when you hover over the series name rather than clicking on it would be a big improvement.

Click the little arrow next to the ranking number, not the series name.

I'd be really interested in seeing how stable the number of votes each series receives over time is. For example, I suspect Prison School's rise is because it sheds viewers quickly, so only people who really like it survive to the current episode, whereas other shows probably have more stable viewerships. That's probably too much data to display easily though.

You don't have to click on the actual link, you can hit the ranking number or anything else in that line.

I think this is a neat idea. I hope this becomes a permanent feature at ANN. So far the rankings line up more or less with how I expected. I look forward to see how series continue to rank.

For a while I've been looking for the right place to comment this. The problem with online voting is that they can be hacked. Like they can be very easily hacked if the web developers don't consider the possibility of them getting hacked and don't apply the corresponding security/authentication procedures. In this case, the ANN voting system in the episode reviews are especially easy to hack. Also from a mathematical perspective, I also don't take those ratings seriously because they would have to introduce more variables to survey (along with with the chosen rating) for those statistics to mean something.

I'd say most people familiar with the show are waiting for the non-broadcast release, watching it now would be like watching the sopranos on TBS.

It's got monster girls, it's got wacky shenanigans, it's got Yu Kobayashi acting and singing the awesome ED, what's not to love!?
