All good things must come to an end, alas. The modding community had ample fun with the track path editor, overcoming nearly every default restriction for the sake of experimentation.

I shall pity anyone who loses their installation henceforth. To suffer such a fate is to bid farewell to the numerous in-game features that were provided via free DLC.

I never got around to getting a Playstation 3 (though I might still get one one of these days), but I presume people will still be able to play through single player career mode offline?

Something you can't do in Gran Turismo Sport (yeah, I know it's because of the FIA, though I wish there'd be a simple "opt-out" option where you could play career mode offline if you're not interested in participating in the FIA e-sports aspects of the game).

Yes, you'll still be able to play the off-line contents of the game just fine.

The primary issue will be - as with Gran Turismo 5 when it's online service ended - that if you have yet to actually play the game you will have a difficult time amassing credits and vehicles. Online races in both GT5 and GT6 yield(ed) a tremendous amount of credits to the player, often more so than obtainable credits in the single player portion (ex: it will be very difficult to obtain the trophy for spending all your credits, 20 million, when you will have a constant battle just trying to get that many). Online play made it much easier to accumulate vehicles.

I can tell you that once GT5's service ended I re-visited the title once. I was honestly a little shocked at all the lacking content once online service ended (GT5 focused a lot on multiple B-spec players online, which was eliminated with the end of online service). I imagine GT6 will be similar. I don't even want to think what will happen with GT Sport. The recent updates did finally add some single player racing content that harks back to classic Gran Turismo, but the persistent issue is it is STILL online so if the server has issues (which it recently has due to overloading) it renders game play to mostly single-car time trials. Unless Polyphony Digital has something massive up their sleeve, GT Sport will be pretty useless once it's service ends.

It was about that time. Hopefully, folks will jump on Sport.
